Need help ASAP OK so i had my hood popped and i noticed that my balancer was wiggleing around so i took it off and needed to be replaced ...put a new one on and it wobbles so i took it off and started the car with just the front hub on the crank and it wiggles up and down slightly...so i removed the hub and there is no keyway .....isn't there supposed to be? I wanted to make sure the crank wasnt bent so i started the car with everything removed off the front and the crank looks to be turning straight and not bent. What is going on here. Should there be a keyway or is the hub bent or what? thanks

lt1 engines didnt use keyways . the right way to install the balancer is to find the arrow on the hub of the balancer. then the crank should be at #1's tdc and then install balancer with arrow at 12:00 position. thats the gm service manual instructions. not sure if thats the problem . but it wouldnt hurt to try .
