I'm still wondering why you don't drill the couple of holes yourself.

It is all the holes that need welded up Like IllusionalTA mentioned. I have seen a set that was done and it is a bit of work. Not a ton but more then I would want to do. While I am at it they might accedently turn into 16* heads

It's just the water passage holes, right? The rears are plugged by the manifold and the fronts just go to the water neck. A small 1/4" plate can cap off the water neck. You could even put a pipe plug in it so you can bleed air out.

Is there a reason why you'd go through all this on an LT1 block instead of just going with the sbc the heads were built for? Aside from maybe the distributor(which I hear is crap anyway) I'm thinking you could adapt the FI to an older block. I don't know anything about engine building though, is there an advantage the LT1 block has?

i believe it's more than just the water passage holes.. oil drain's are diff as well.. i believe if not done right.. water will find it's way into the oil.. and quite a bit of it actually... anyone have a pic of the bottom of a LTx head?

here's the top of mine..

Sent you a PM TwoFast4Lv.

Once I get my current set-up sold my shop is going to race port and convert some 23 degree SBC heads to reverse flow (I can get the same amount of money out of my current heads that they will be charging for the conversion and race port).

They told me with a VIC JR they can get me a 600 crank HP LT1 on the motor no problem. A lot more if I ever went SB2.2.

They have had BBC heads make 450CFM

Looking at they flow graph for their 406 heads up motor and its 384@.600 up to 397@.900

I SHOULD be able to spray a 300 shot SAFE on it so roughly 900 crank hp threw a Neil Chance stall, TH-400 with a brake, 9 inch or Moser 12 bolt with a spool. Factory hood May be needing a FAST (bet I will).

Anyone know if anyone is running a roller cam on their LT1 BASED engine here? Thats was mentioned when I talked to them last.

it runs' down the valley along the side of the head and down the pushrod valley... at least that's the only way i see it able to drain back... it's channeled pretty deep..
