Ed Write is one of the few I know of pushing over 500RWHP on stock castings N/A.
I am hitting over 600RW on extemely modified stock LT1 casting but I use Juice.
IF they made 18* heads for LTx cars that would be great. The only thing close was the AFR 215RR...a SBC converted head from AFR

Well. I did not know this. I though they were actually cast.

Yup I was very suprised when they told us. All the new port designs are on dedicated castings as of some time 2006
We waited from Nov2005-March2006 because the place that did the conversion was on Christmas vaction

When I ordered my heads from AFR, they bolted directly up. As far as the consumer is concerned, they are not converted because they come straight from AFR ready to bolt on. How they arrived at that product is all in the most efficient manufacturing methods, which is no concern of ours. They simply didn't drill the holes that are needed for SBC, and drilled the holes needed for LT1. Why would you have a whole different casting?

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't wait till I build a motor after this one with aftermarket heads. There is a local guy that is said to be one of the best porters in the country.
He also does all the heads for two MAJOR pro stock bikes and a few cars last I checked.
The dude works like 100 hours a week but loves his work.

To me dyno numbers are nothing, its the track times that prove the car really. Yeah dyno numbers matter some but I have seen some lower power cars run faster then hihger power cars.
I wonder what 900crank HP translates into in the 1/4 with a near stock weight car after the cage and all or a little lighter.
TH-400 and a 9 inch along with obvious suspension and all.
HMMMM

Ok first things first. The AFR heads were modified in there raw form before machining...you know the part where they cut the surfaces AND Drill all the Holes Ever notice how the LT4 heads have the holes for LT1 gaskets also
ANYWAY. SO you guys are telling me I am one of the few pushing into the nines with Ported GM LT1 castings? The set that came on my car from the factory even!
I was talking to Ray and Nitro daves today. Once my heads are converted they will be true LT1 heads just like AFRs
Like I said I would have never guessed had I not been told by four different people at AFR including Tony Then again maybe after waiting for Over Three months for a set of 210 LT4 heads they all just decided to tell us any thing

Mike you are going to have to get it to 60ft a lot harder then that to get those numbers. ever thought of like a small 50 shot coming out of the hole?
BTW know what a 400hp Camaro and a 800hp Supra have in common?
They both run low 12s high 11s
