Cut and Frayed Wires?
Cut and Frayed Wires? I am getting ready to drop the engine and when I disconnected the pcm I noticed a couple wires were frayed and/or broken completely off. One is a green w/ white stripe, gray w/ black stripe, and gray w/ white stripe. I have a hard time telling colors apart so the stripe may not be black but it is dark. The gray w/ white stripe is the only one not completely torn but is badly frayed. They all connect to the "white" connector for the pcm. These are the only wires damaged so I wonder if maybe the previous owner was doing something and cut them. Anybody know what these wires are for? If they are important does anybody sell just parts of the harness or would I have to buy the whole thing?
ok I found out one of the wires has to do with the IAC coil. Wasnt aware it had a coil but that could explain some of my idle issues. Not a whole lot of people looking at this thread yet, but what is the IAC coil and the best way to repair that section? butt connector or soldering?
