I went with a small Comp Cams Xtreme Street Roller on my 383 and put down 501rwhp at 7.2# through a 4L80E.

The solid roller gives you the best of both worlds - decent idle, killer midrange and a screamin top end.

Cam is 230/236, net lift .575/.584 with 1.6rr, 112LSA.
