Talking Want a bigger cam for the LT1...

like in my sig it says i have the Comp Cams 305 cam with 1.6 rollers... i have the behive springs that can handle up to a .600 lift and want a cam that can come cose to that, its nit really a DD but a more of a fun toy i play with alot.. I was wondering if any one had a used cam that is bigger or could give me a web site to find them.. thanks...

CC306 or GM847, both pretty aggressive over the shelf camshafts. Check out thunderracing.com, they have a pretty good selection.

bigger is not always better. IF you want noise go for it. Get a custom

i like my cam but i want more power and dont want to put juice or a charger on it.. i dont have the money for a 383 just yet so i was wanting to put a bigger cam in it..

if you put a cam that ur heads/intake are not setup for, your just gonna choke that motor = no power

i know but i'm already saving up for the new motor build starting in july when i go to school... it's going to be a 383 stroker, port the heads a little more, port and polish the intake manifold, switch out my 52 mm tb for a 58 mm tb... but i think i can run maybe a little smaller than what i was looking at and not have a problem with it choking...

I just got a comp xfi cam very similar to that one going in my 355. I hope it runs well. I'll post up as soon as I get it going.

Also check out the Lunati Voodoo line. I might have gone with one of those over the xfi cams had I known about them.

yeah, im building a 383 LT1 stroker right now for me friend and its going to be running the LT4 hot cam...so i guess well see how that works out..

If you plan on going anything over .590 on the lift i would get some better springs to be safe. Im assuming that you are running the 918's

Who is this.... and no i'm pretty sure even with his 383 and every thing i have it should be a good race.. he will have a 383 kit, hotcam, long tubes, and gears...
