Car over heated allot, did it hurt it??
I was driving in the cold *** rain the other night, my temp gauge came up too fast for it to be real in my book, i called it bluff, i kept driving till i hit a fuel station, checked it and it was boiling its *** off, i refilled it due to being low, it had a hose rubbing the PS pulley and was spraying out, i limped it back home but it still was past 260!!! Think it hurt anything??? I will replace the hose today but i started it and it sounds fine, think i hurt anything, if it was a ford i would know i was mucked, what do you guys think??? Im screwed with warped heads and the works or i might be ok?

My car overheated out of nowhere and I caught it within a few seconds and pulled over to shut it off and cool it down. Less than a month later when I tried to start the car the motor locked up from one of the cylinders being full of coolant.

Take the oil cap off and check to make sure you don't have a coolant/oil froth in there. When I blew a head gasket on my old firebird, the car drove ok it just missed a little bit, I thought it was the damn coil packs again. This happened to me months after the car had overheated driving in the mountains.

when mine blew it slowly bled ino one of my cylinders..took a while and then once the gasket completely went it screwed the motor in a matter of minutes..the oil is gonna give you a good clue but not always definite...took a while for mine to show in the oil since it was a slow leak

How many miles are on it? When my car overheated, I blew the head gasket by the #7 cylinder quick. I had around 135k or so for mileage. Everything looked great when I tore the top half of the motor off, except for the head gaskets, if it hadn't gone there, it was working on it in other places.

I would definitely keep an eye on it but I personally would jump to any conclusions yet. I would refill the coolant system, drive it a little, check the oil then see how she does.

Well i seen it was low again, i will fill it and drive it tomarrow, we will see, like i say, i am glad i have a set of vette heads lying around, are there any difference between the vette heads and the camaro heads??? I really am just glad to have a set that are not warped, i will port them and have a valve job done, think i will pick up 10-20 HP?
It has exactly 135K on the odometer.
