Default Gear Info..please respond!!!!

I just put in 4:10s on my T56, I have about 200 miles on the gears. I was going to put about 100 more miles on it and change the oil and run it at the track with my Drag Radials. Is it still too early to put that much load on it???

Im asking cause it will be my only day off on race day for a long time to come...I know its pushing it but I cant wait no more. Please help me guys with your opinion.

As long as you bought high-quality gears, that should be fine. I would worry about your rear-end, because that sounds exactly like what I did. Stock 7.5" + 4.10s + Nittos = broked rear-end.

I've heard you should allow gears like 500 miles to break in from a couple people but anyways 4.10's, Drag Radials, and a stock 10 Bolt means breakage

why would 410's have an effect on how easy it will break? seems like it would be less likely to break

they multiply torque at the wheels, not at the rear end. the only thing it could really help break are the axles, which are in between the wheels and ring, so that is the only thing that is getting torque multiplication

What happens when the tires can't breake free? The gears break because of too much tq is trying to force the car forward with the gears(ring) and they can't hold the force that want to move the car by the gears multiplying the force

Housing flex, pinion bolt wrongly tq down, wrong clerance and many other things help to break the gears

I have a T56 it holds alot of power stock and slicks,i haven´t used the nos so don´t count that in,i'll use 150 shot untill the stock internals fail, then rebuild to handle the nos system

I just recently installed 4:10 but haven´t tryed the car with my sliks,I´m bracing the 10bolt to eliminate flex and my car is light 3200lb and hoping for the best

I have a 9" ready to fab up
