freightquote.com I used them to move some several-hundred-pound dental equipment and they will pick it up and deliver residentially.

Not sure of the weight on the block though.

Good luck.

I'd go more with what Jester said. 2 heads weigh 85-90lbs (iron, not alu).

and you would be very wrong that is about what a 4L60E weighs dry without converter.
The block alone I would say jester with his MEASURED number is right. I know a few times we have moved shortblocks into the back of my wagon by hand just me and one other guy each time, heavy but managable with the rotating assembly, the crank alone being over 50lbs added.

yeah my numbers are accurate (to a point bathroom scale) to ship a bare block on an engine crate you are looking at approx. 200 lbs.

here is the site i was gonna use for shipping.

http://saiasecure.com/

for an online quote the rate class for an engine block is 85. call them to make sure.

btw the crank if i remember is 62 lbs

I just threw out a minimum number, but in an effort to make sure the accurate numbers get trusted I went and weighed a stock crank and 62lbs is a good number.
I have a block but am not going to dig it out just for this.
