Can you change the cam without pulling the intake? I heard that when you pull the pushrods out you can rotate the motor one revolution and the lifter retainers would keep the lifters from falling. Allowing you to change the cam and possible save some down time.
Anyone done it this way?

I doubt it, but if you strap a large magnet to all of the pushrods you might be in luck!

no, you have to take out the oil pump drive, if you had a gen 3 small block you can do it with the intake on, also the roller cam engines with a standard dist can do it with the intake on

Forgot all about the oil pump drive. Looks like the intake is comming off.
