Default LT4 Hotcam Kit

Ok I know with headers, catback and gears ill see a huge difference, but I wanna know, with the mods below if a 13.97 is good on a LT1 M6 Vert Fully loaded (Electric driver seat, windows, locks, side mirrors,) running stock EVERYTHING except what is listed and not dumping clutch off the line. Shifts were done at 6000-6300. Motor and Clutch has about 5k miles on it.

LT4 Hotcam Kit (lt4 hotcam, springs, 1.6RR, Compcams Pushrods)
K&N CAI
MSD 6AL Box
Descreened MAF
PCM Tune from CSS

I have a catback in my garage and once I get AC workign in the car I will be getting a set of Pacesetter or Mac Mids.

Thats a pretty slow time, exhaust should help a lot. You'll have to get it re-tuned also. I would have expected atleast 13.7X atleast with those mods. And that is being moddest.

EDIT: re-read and saw its a convertable, then maybe its about right.

i will try and find the slip. my other time is a 15.5 at 78mph but that is the run that I blew the clutch into 10000 peices.

yea I was thinking i should have been about 13.8ish Some of it could also be driver as well as it was my first run on a manual and as I said I didnt jump rpms and then dump the clutch.

i think you should be running faster times with your set up, even without the exhaust

yea man... also there are "factory freaks" and also slow cars from the factory thats just the way it is... i know a kid whose on another forum that had a 96 vert trans am... alls it had was LT's, borla, short shifter, 410's, and drag radials and skinnies and he was going 12.7's with a stock *** long block... but i mean thats crazy i dont know how he did it... i have yet to get any real times with my formula but with my old hard top 93 trans am i just had cold air, headers, catback, chip, 315 street tires and would do 13.7's all day long so id work on that launch becuase your not going to get any good times by babying that clutch... if your afraid to break stuff racing isnt the sport for you... haha hope this helps ya out bud

I have the Hot Cam kit, and I got mine to run the fastest of a 12.61@109. That was a built Engine, still stock specs, and a little Head work. All Intake/Exhaust mods were done.
Yea, weight is a major factor. Mine stock was 3320, ran a 13.89@100. I got it down to 3230ish now.

15.5? i think you need the driver mod.. not being a dick just stating the obvious. Thats as slow as a V6.. like 3.4L v6

also you might want to resize your sig before the mods get you..

in the 1/4 mile after the clutch blew at the 1/8th? I figured that would be a pretty good run, considering for half the track there was no acceleration.

as for babying the clutch. It a daily driver right now and we had a 2 hour ride home, which after blowign the clutch was a 2 hour rid ehome in a tow truck lol. Once I get up another 1200 Ill replace it with a better than stock clutch as I want to do all the hyrraulics as well as the clutch all at once. then ill dump!!!

yea that cam is on a 112lsa you will hear it lope, it wont lope as hard as some bigger cams on a 112lsa but it will be noticible and sound real good.

ive hunted high and low and i cant find my time slip. Ill clean the car out tomorrow and see if its is stuffed somewhere in there...

what is this 'eyeglass mod'?? i havent heard of it.

I got my hooker catback on and lemme tell you, I can feel a difference. And my shortshifter gives a much better feel and faster shifts...this summer mids or LTs followed by ls1 front brakes....and Ill hopefully be deeper into the 13's...gears and a 54-56mm TB will be next christmas i hope..

on a side note, how well do the lt4 hotcams and lt1 bottom ends hold up with nitrous?
