Without the catalytic converters on is it normal to see more black smoke when you intitially floor it? I noticed on the dyno and playing around with my little video camera that the car puts out some additional black smoke when you floor it or jab the throttle hard.
I do have low tension oil rings, and there is a little oil use and blue color in this video.
What do you think.

I'd say as long as your not seeing it while regular driving your probably ok..... I cut the one off my 86 iroc with a built motor. Had full exhaust done w/o cat and it smoked a little more with the cat cut off. So I suppose it would be normal since you don't have the cat to catch all the exhaust and clear up the emissions. Hope I helped a little bit. Good luck
