My LT1 takes the Dexcool, the older LT1's took the regular green coolant. Be careful don't mix them.

What kind of water pump did you put on it? I have gone with Meziere or CVR both have been good. Make sure you get the dual fan set up.

yes i did remove the crossover tube. I did not realize it was a coolant crossover?? i thought it was something to do with emissions.

I might have to venture and say that could be your problem. The purpose of that crossover tube is to allow steam pockets to exit the head. More steam comes out of it then coolant, but coolant still flows through it.. One of those essential items to an LTX engine.

I still have the crossover tube laying around somewhere. If I continue to have problems i will put it back on.
