Default Opti sensor

Does anybody sell just the optical pick up sensor inside the optispark. I think this is the part that goes bad. I cant see the pick-up wheel going bad or anything else. I just want the sensor. Please let me know if you know where to get one. Thanks

You can get one at NAPA. However I don't recommend it. I got one and finally traced my high RPM misses back to it. Finally gave a DTC 16 not long after that. You're better off to go MSD, Dynaspark, or GM.

I don't suggest it either. I took the first one I replaced apart several years ago. The odds of getting it apart and not damaging the wheel are very slim. It's like tinfoil thick and bends EXTREMELY easily. If you do manage to get it off successfully (which I'm pretty sure wouldn't happen) then you have to put it back together without damaging it as well.....my advice is to just bite the bullet and by a new one and be done....
