The electrics can not flow the same volume the mechanical does, at idle sure they flow more but even by the time you are at cruise the mechanical moves more water.
You can use an electric on a DD just buy a spare and keep it in the car.

Seriously, instead of an e-waterpump, I'd do a Madz28.com or similar mail order tune and a 160 t-stat. It's about the same amount of money, you'll probably pick up even more RWHP, your fans will come on at a lower temp and a lot of other benefits (disable CAGs if M6, firmer shifts/higher shift points if an A4, higher rev limiter, etc).
