Default electirc water pump guys inside

alright ive got a few questions as i may be purchising this pump for my 94 T/A as we all kno the LT1 loves to run hot so im tryin to decide which will be the best pump to prevent this from happening. Now i will have the following to help me fight my overheating battles a 160 tstat from slp or one from autozone dnt know which is better , a manual fan switch and prob some used fans from a donor. Now where im getting at is can i use a electric pump on a dd as it is my only car for now , people say the electric waterpump is for race cars only. so will it be safe to run on a dd and if so where do i get one from?

The only reason the LT1 runs hot is the stock programming. Lower the fan temps and that is fixed.

The electrics can not flow the same volume the mechanical does, at idle sure they flow more but even by the time you are at cruise the mechanical moves more water.

You can use an electric on a DD just buy a spare and keep it in the car.

Just dont get a CSR mine was running hot a freeway temps while i was driving.... about 240 to 250 made me hate driving the car. I went with a Meizere and problems were solved... but make sure u get the heavy duty one it flows a lot better and have used it for over 1.5 years with no problems on a 11.1 compression engine on a stock radiator. U can buy it at Summit racing. T-stat are all geneic made by one or a few companies sold to other companies and a nmaed is placed on them..... so it doesnt really matter.

get a 160-t stat and the SLP fan switch that is all I did and the car runs at 170 all the time even in the summer. I also just got a CSR E-water pump and I love it. I had the stock one on and it work good too. I got the E-water pump so when I am at the track I can turn the water pump and the fans on with out turning the car on to cool it after a run. The car will love a 160 t-stat if you take care of the fans. If you do the T-stat and not the fan it will not help. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR CAR.

No it is not from the car running cooler, it is from the electric moving LESS water than the mechanical does at moderate too higher engine rpms.

Stock waterpump is fine. My car doesn't go above 1/4 on the temp gauge. Though I wish I went electric when my waterpump failed last year, instead of replacing with a mechanical.

Seriously, instead of an e-waterpump, I'd do a Madz28.com or similar mail order tune and a 160 t-stat. It's about the same amount of money, you'll probably pick up even more RWHP, your fans will come on at a lower temp and a lot of other benefits (disable CAGs if M6, firmer shifts/higher shift points if an A4, higher rev limiter, etc).
