I don't like those lines that go to the headlights... although it doesn't look at bad in that pic as I would have guessed,

I did actually, over a year ago. Never got a response.

This pic came about as the result of a little brainstorming session me and two other guys on camaroz28.com had where we were trying to come up with our own concept of an LT1 Sunoco hood. I think it may have just been a case of bad timing, because it wasn't two weeks after that thread was made that VFN unveiled their own version of the LT1 Sunoco hood. I think at that point, since they had just finished the new hood, they probably weren't too interested in entertaining ideas for a different version.

Maybe I should make a thread with a poll to see how much interest there would be in this version, and if the results are positive enough, send the link to VFN as a petition for them to make it?

ya maybe that petition will motivate them to put something new out if there are enough sigs. I would like to see them incorporate different styles into the hoods. It's all pretty plain, a flat hood with a cowl or scoop. I would love to see the shelby series 1 style hood incorporated into an lt1 hood or something like the new shelby gt 500. I think the lt1 hoods need something to break up all the prairie like space on them. From what is available now i would have to go with the same one speed density has. I just have a plain z28 on mine still. Motor and rubber comes first in my books. But hopefully a hood won't be too far away.

By the way that photoshop looks pretty sexy, good job. Mabe try seeing how one of these hoods would look. I would love to see it!!(black camaro is mine)

I have read this type of comment from a couple people now, so let me say this.
I get compliments all the time in my car. You have to remember, things look alot different in life then on a computer or in a pic.
Some want the 4" Cowl and let me tell you, its massive when you get it up close. Almost too big.

My Sunoco hood may not look wild in pics, but when you finally walk around the car and really appreciate it, the hood looks fantastic. I would not want those 'wrinkles' down the hood and if you seen it in real life you would understand, it don't need them.

Some of you guys should go to some meets and/or cars shows to see up close what a certain hood looks like.
The LT1 Front End looks mean enough and it may not look it in pics, but in life my "plain" Sunoco hood looks much more aggresive and attracts just as much attention as a SS Hood, Cowl Hood, etc...

And I could throw some graphics down the side of cowl

Good luck "LT1 that Could", I would like to see more people with the Ultra-Z hood, I was going to get it myself, I just wanted something you could see from the drivers seat, that was one thing I hated about my Z28.

Hey burnzilla don't get all defensive on me here. I never said anything about the hoods not looking aggresive or looking bad i would just like to see more of a variety in styles. Just giving my opinion like you did. I am not in it to draw attention even though if you heard my car you would know it doesn't need a hood to do that. I am in it to go fast, and have fun drivin it and workin on it.

I kinda like the sunoco... it blends with the rest of the car's smooth lines and the big cowl hoods are fairly sharp edged. i have the competition hood from rksport. same as the ss hood, but with a chrome grill. But to each his own, thats why there are many different hoods to choose from and each of us have our own f-bod to mod how it appears best to one's own eye.
