Numbers are NOT actual. Look at any dyno sheets. Many LT1 M6s F-bodies pull 260-270 RWHP. Remember one BONE STOCK pulling 273 RWHP on a 1995 Formula.
The vettes dyno about the same maybe a bit less. You can only conclude one of two things
1. With only 4 or less % parasitic losses, GM has the most EFFICIENT drivetrains on the planet.
2. The motors were underated in the F-bodies.
I go with the later

The LT5 parts market is pretty small good thing that the engines are pretty much bullet proof. There is a stroker ZR1 running around here that is pretty freaking stout. Do a google search on Mike Ebert and ZR1.
