OK Sorry, factory no. I meant the Callaway which was a dealer option. Basically I meant that the car came with twin turbos, it wasn't a mod someone did on their own, and there were quite a few of them made. I shouldn't have said factory, that's my screw up heh.

There is no aftermarket because like the link states barely 3000 vehicles left the factory with them. Yes it was available as a crate motor but even with crate motor sales I doubt 4000 of these engies were ever built.
How many people have complained of mediocre aftermarket support for the LT1? Easily 100 times as many LT1s left the factory. That would be 400,000 which seems concervative to me by the time you figure the b-bodies(Caprice, Impala and Roadmaster) d-body(Fleetwood) as well as the f-bodies and Vette. The Vette was easy to find production numbers on call it 100K LT1s as a nice round fugure as was the Impala SS another 35K.

Although the ZR1 was extremely quick (0-60mph in 4.6 seconds, and onto 180+ mph), the huge performance of the LT5 engine was matched by its robustness. As evidence of this, a stock ZR1 set a number of international and world records at a test track in Fort Stockton, Texas on March 1, 1990, verified by the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile), including:
7 New International Records: 100 Miles @ 175.600 MPH; 500 Miles @ 175.503 MPH; 1000 Miles @ 174.428 MPH; 5000 KM @ 175.710 MPH; 5000 Miles @ 173.791 MPH; 12 Hours Endurance @ 175.523 MPH; 24 Hours Endurance @ 175.885 MPH for 4,221.256 Miles
3 WORLD RECORDS - IRRESPECTIVE of CATEGORY or CLASS: 5000 KM @ 175.710 MPH; 5000 Miles @ 173.791 MPH; 4,221.256 Miles @ 175.885 MPH
These records remain unbeaten today by any subsequent Corvette, including both the C5 and C6 Z06s.

Now is it worth the work to put one in a TA? (probably not, although back in the day Tim Allen had GM make a one off LT5 Impala SS)

However, would you honestly take a LS7 over a Callaway LT5, or even a stock LT5? If they both were being offered to you free, but you could only pick one. Both had 0 miles, both would be installed in a vehicle of choice free, with all the fixings required... If it was a Callaway, I'd seriously take that over the LS7 any day of the week

Actually from the research I was doing. It would take a very big chunk of change to get an lt5 to even fit into an fbody. Something along the lines of the engine being too wide if i remember right.

I sat on the net here for a good 35mins, and I couldn't find any other Turbo LT5 pics, let alone that same pic![Sad](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_sad.gif)
EDIT: Crap, I forgot I DID find this one! It's a Year One TT LT5 in a Chevelle.
