Default Question on Supercharged LT1

Whats up guys? I am new to this site and had a quick question. I just bought an El Camino with a 1995 Corvette LT1 and 700R4 tranny with 30K miles on it. (that car was in storage for years) Anyways, its out and running great now and I just bought a procharger for it. The motor is bone stock except for current computer work, light cam, and intake.

What realistic boost can I push without blowing up the motor?

What simple mods could I do to maximize performance. (simple I mean not spending another 2.5K on heads and cam right now)

Any ideas on what kind of horsepower I'll be throwing down? Its a 95 LT1, 2.5 inch exhaust, 700R4, 8.5 GN rear end with 3.73's.

Don't expect the tranny to last very long with a blower. I think most only run 8-9psi on stock bottom ends.

I have never seen many LT1's last much longer than a year with any blowers on them.... the hyperutectic pistons in a stock LT1 HATE boost and any detonation will crack a ring land.... I'd say if you put any size blower to it limit boost to 6psi and you might be alright.... 8 to 9 and you are asking to break it....

all the companies can tell you that you can put 8 to 9 pounds of intercooled boost to a stock LT1 but when you crack a piston those companies send you neither a check nor a new LT1..... so i'd say 6 is the limit..... or you can disassemble it and put forged pistons in it then you can have fun with 9-12 psi....

I ran 8 on mine for a while, with no problem. However you need to throw that FMU as far as you can. Those things suck. In order to run 8 reliabely you need to have it inner cooled and a DAMN good tune on it or you run the risk of grenading your pistons. the p600b isn't ProChargers best blower by no means, it's kinda outdated. So I wouldn't expect anything spectacular out of it. I don't see you aking much more than 8-9 psi even if you wanted to. When I had my stock engine and trans in I put down 381 rwhp and 401 rwtq with 8psi through the twin high flow innercoolers. Oh and that was with the Stage 2 P-1SC. But never-the-less good luck with it man and have fun.
