the gt isn't making tons of power, those things are very light. if he can hook you might have trouble with full bolt-ons. just throw a 150 shot on the motor and you wont have a problem.
Stangs are not all that fast. A good friend has an 87 with aftermarket heads both upper and lower intake 3.55 gears decent cam injectors different computer etc etc and a small bit of suspension work and he runs 13.3 or so on old dot slicks. When he made 2 passes on street tires my car with only 4.10 gears was running the same times in the 1/8.
A buddy of mine has a SN95 with the same exact setup instead he has a c4 trans. He runs consistant 12.20's in the heat. I also know another guy in town that has a Fox body GT with AFR heads and he runs 12.30-12.50 depending on the launch. He has a TKO trans. So good luck, you will need alot more than some bolt-ons to hang I think. A common LT1 with bolt-ons will run low 13's or high 12's. Common LT1's with a cam runs about 12.40's-12.80's. Common LT1's with heads run 11.70's-12.00's so you may need what my import friends call !!!NAUCE!!! -Good Luck-
