Back in '99 I raced a new Lightning 6 times from a stoplight. I was a bone stock LT1 M6 and he was bone stock with 2k on the odo. We ran pretty even 'till about 35 mph when I proceeded to walk him everytime.

i said the same thing but like i said it was my first time at the track and did not launch very well i launched at 2500 rpm but i think i need to be at 4000 rpm because i was hooking up great although i have a couple of lt1s one 96 camaro ss with 9,000 miles that is mint but the formula is my daily driver w/150,400 miles and as far as i can tell it runs just as strong as the (ss) but i am going to try again tommorro at the track and see what i come up with because i was expecting around 13.8

lightnings are cool trucks. I'd pimp one They are S/C'd 5.4's with an Eaton M112 so you can't expect them to be slow. Mod them at all and they really respond well. I'd like a black or white one

i was running 13.6's with intake/exhuast everything else stock, it would have prolly been capable of low 13's but after breaking a rear end with a 1500-2000 RPM launch on my old zr-1's, didnt want to repeat the experience so whenever i went to the track after i broke it didnt really try to hard to get good times or i didnt run at all, but i think the rear end i got out of a 02 hawk will hold up to what i have now so i want to see what i can get out of it with it being almost stock again ..... yeah id go with ya tomorrow but im leaving for hawaii and wont be back for 2 weeks

Something was wrong. Stock Lightning is clearly faster than a stock LT1.

They are fun trucks most people arnt smart enough to realize what it is until they here it whine. I went from a really nice firehawk to this and I thought I wouldnt be as happy as I was with the f-body but after all i love it now. I just gotta start modding the thing because as anyone else you always want more. And it is black!

And im not trying to argue or hate I had an lt1 and loved it. In fact id like to see him run faster im just stating what happened at the track and what the truck is suppose to run.

But dont worry I plan on coming back to the GM camp when the new camaro comes out.
