there is a sensor that goes into the compressor ... make sure you didn't knock it off. check the level of the refrigerant, pull the cap off the high side (top line near the cowl) and push down, see if anything comes out ... if there is refrigerant ... check the pressure sensor which will be next to the cap you just pulled off, try jumping it ... if it still doesn't come on ... check all the fuses. if it still fails ... take it to an a/c shop ... cause im out of ideas lol ... could be a bad compressor ... but i doubt it would just quit on you.

Mine didn't put out cold air, if you consider that not working, well I just recharged it after emptying it. Not freezing cold like some cars, but it's better than open windows on a boiling day.

The answer to this problem is the pressure cycling switch. If it does exactly this, (Cools, then blows hot, then Cools again) its the PCS alright.

Mine was cool and then a few days later would blow only hot. I haven't tried to troubleshoot it yet, but FL is starting to feel pretty damn brutal now.
I'm pissed cause I replaced the one hard line last year then had the dealership pressure test and fill it, well less than a year later I'm sweating in the car.

my A/C went out last year, I have been dying down here in South Texas, dont know how much longer I can take the 100 degree 80% humidity,

My Jeep had A/C but earlier this year it crapped out too

Hopefully I can fix it soon, I think my compressor just gave up the ghost.

Should do the trick. I think I got mine at Napa for like 36 bucks last year.

Every blue moon I can get in my car and start it, and the AC does not blow cold at all. What i mean is it is basically outside temp. What is weird is I can kill the engine start it right up and presto cold ac. Only has happened maybe 5 times in the life of the car, but afraid its gonna crap out on me in the middle of Houston summer heat one day.

Anybody know what the hell could be causing that?

Also since we are on the subject of AC what is the best way to recharge the AC on the LT1? I still have cold AC, but it could be colder. Any way to make it colder?

Ooo, another fun AC tip. If it starts blowing only at your feet and your car starts stumbling, you probably need a new check valve on the vaccume line. Its a little 3 way check valve on the passanger side fender with three little hard plastic lines running into it. My friend replaced two on his gf's V6 bird, then one on mine all about a week apart. However hers just went bad, mine was a long tube header install casualty.

Normally, if it's low on refrigerant the compressor clutch will click on and off continually for awhile. Then, depending on how slow the leak is, it won't come on at all after a few weeks. Low refrigerant is not a sudden thing unless there's some damage to the system. Most commonly, an A/C no-start is electrical: fuses (inline and fuse box), relays, wiring, or sometimes the fusebox itself is shorted.
