Default LT4 KN on a 93

I have read that a LT4 knock module can not be used on a 93 is this true? is there a way to adapt it? Or can someone tell me the next best thing to do. I am running LT4 roller rockers and the car is pulling timing on top end.

The 93's don't use a knock module, so yes it's true. Even with rockers you shouldn't need to desensitize the knock sensor. At least I haven't had to on the two 93's I've owned. Have you tried running some 104 octane gas to see if it's genuine or false knock?

Yea, sadly no KM on ours Wrapping it in foam or something can help, but really isn't recommended. Could always try a new one. I thought some vehicle had one that was less sensitive? Truck or B-Body?

Other than that, having it tuned is the last option (aside from removing it from the motor and setting it aside but still plugged in heh, that's a real big nono!)

OK We don't have KMs. The chip and computer figure it all out. We DO have a Knock SENSOR though. That's totally different, it's on the block, driver side (pretty sure). Ugly lil thing Here's a pic. (Upper left, ignore the rest of the stuff)

AND I just learned this!!! I always wondered wtf this was but now I know. What the arrow is pointing to, is OUR Knock "Module". Sadly not replaceable. The chip on the left is our Chip It's what you replace when you get one tuned. Or well, if you're smart you buy a little adapter board (long story, PM me if you want that explained lol)

I believe you can solder a resister in line to desensitize the knock module .....

Yup. There is a "desensitization" mod but it's not exactly an accurate thing.

the KS is located on the PASSENGER side of the motor.
