Default Need to kill some lights

Search is down right now, FYI. For you electrical whizzes, I need to kill my low oil and service engine lights. I am running a pan with no low oil sensor and tried a paper clip to jump the two pin sensor and that didn't do it. Also not running a knock sensor and I always get code 43, which illuminates the service engine light. I was wondering if there was a way to kill that code. I think I know which wire to ground for the ABS so good there and I think I am just gonna track down my air bag problem and keep them.

For the low oil sensor, short the brown wire from the sensor to ground.
For the knock sensor, the pcm needs to see something like 4500 ohms to ground. The voltage on the sensor wire should be 2.5V.

Or you can pull your gauge cluster and pull the lights, but I wouldn't recommend doing that on the SES light as it's still a needed item.

Yeah done that before but I don't like the job. I would rather trick the sensors.

Oh one detail I failed to get here.... I guess I need a resistor for the KS right? What size?

Isn't 4500ohm the size you need? >_>

Well he said 2.5v on the wire so I thought that would determine the size of the resistor (which I thought would be measured some other way since voltage is a variable). I don't know, I'm not much of an electrician.

Use a resistor between 3.3k & 4.5k across the sensor wire and ground. This is what the stock KS is supposed to measure. You should see that the voltage across the resistor is roughly 2.5V. I don't think it is too critical to have exactly 2.5V. That should get rid of the DTC43.

Will this work for him?
