which cam for 383
which cam for 383 What cam should I get for my 383? I think I need a small base circle cam for clearance purposes. It's probable going to be my DD and it's an automatic so nothing super radical but I want somthing that makes insane power. I was thinking about running the cc306 but I think I will have a clearance issue. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks
You need to base this on the rods/pistons/heads....etc. you are gonna use. I had the CC306 in my block and it cleared fine with 6.0" eagle I beams, scat forged crank and probe flat top pistons. I switched the cam for a custom from Comp a 230/236 .568/.568 on a 112 LSA. It will be my DD with an auto in my impala SS. I have 3.73's a 3000 9.5" stall, edelbrock headers etc. Also be sure the cam will match the compression set by the other parts. You need to match everything. Just look at what set ups other people are running here. then you can get an idea.
