Please explain how this would be cheaper. I've never seen the LS1 conversion kit for less than $800.00. True they would be better, but I don't have the funds.

if you can get the ls1 brakes from a wrecked car or from an ls1 owner who upgraded it would be cheaper. and better because ls1 brakes have 2 piston calipers as opposed to the lt1 cars single piston calipers. however, the 4 rotors and pads for $190 seems to be a great deal, i might buy that myself you better hurry up. lol

No No No...not the C5 kit with brackets and everything. Just find an LS1 front brake swap from a part out in the f/s section. Should be around 150-200 tops. It will be spindles, calipers, etc. Then throw on pads of your choice (Hawk HPS is what I'd use), pick up 2 Duralast LS1 rotors from Autozone, and get new ATE Super Blue fluid in there. You can also replace the lines if you wish.

All in all, you won't spend too much more than simply redoing the LT1 brakes, but you will notice WORLDS of stopping difference.

Does it matter which year Lsx and could you give me the complete list of what I would need. They just brought a LSx to my local junk yard. I could give them a call and see how much they want for the set up and you say 200.00 is a fair price used without rotors and pads? Is this a direct bolt up or does it require fabrication?

Would I be correct in saying I would need the rotor, caliper and spindle? What is the difference between a FE2 and F41. My car is the FE2 suspension, the vehicle I can get the parts from has a F41 suspension. Will this work and is any FABRCATION needed or will it all bolt right up? With the bigger brakes and rotors does this change the rims size? I have 16's.

Ls1 brakes on an Lt1 is very simple, get the Ls1 spindles, calipers, brake lines(rubber)and pads, replace on the Lt1 car bleed them and go for a ride.
200.00 max for wayyy better stopping power or you can spend more cash and get the powerslot rotors and a new set of pads.

Thanks for the imput everyone. I will be getting the ones off of a 02 Camaro SS that is at my local scrape yard. Car had 68,000 miles on it and includes everything for $200.00. With this swap I should be able to get my RPM's up a little more for the launch.

Dang you can't beat that price!! I have the rotoworks package and it was a world of a difference. I still wouldn't mind doing the C5 brakes though.
