looks like you should just stick wiht the sti or get an ls1 a lot easy to get that goal but if you need it to be an LT1 a nice turbo set-up will do it.

Start with an LSx car. Trust me I have 600 RWHP and it would be alot easier with a LSx base car

You will need Boost or juice at this point in time

6 speed or auto car? why not set an et/mph goal instead of a dyno #?

le3 heads/cam
355 ~12:1 compression
full bolt ons
GOOD TUNE
6 speed and 10 bolt
True 150 shot

That will get you there, could do it on pump gas also if you wanted, or run a fuel cell and race gas for the nitrous then run pump gas daily.

If money isn't an issue start calling up sponsors on the right and have them build you a motor....

I was getting ready to post something that was identical to this, but he covered all bases.

you don't have to go crazy all motor with nitrous. get something in the low 400 rwhp area and spray a 150-200 shot.

couple years ago I built my LE3 383 for about $6500 intake to oil pan. things have gotten a little more expensive but you should still be able to do it for under $7500.

You'll still need some better heads and cam if you go with a blower.

Will this be a driver or a race car? You want race gas or a pump gas setup?

could always go forged 396 full solid roller then convert some SBC 2.2 heads and have a custom sheet metal intake made then go with a turbo or some spray.

Some decent cubes & N20..you are looking for over 700 Engine.

Go with a LSX setup, it will be cheaper and more powerful. There is a guy that built a 454ci LSX that put out 930hp all motor on an Engine Dyno, he spins up to 8800RPM's..

They are asking LTX based Engines..the LSX's are relatively easy now to get 600 at the wheels.
