Holy Shiet!!!!

If it wasn't for the 6 speed I'd think we'd be having the third 8 second LT1 coming soon before me or Tony ever get there....

JEsus 626RWHP on motor..... that's gotta be a record somewhere.....

Outlaw: I was thinking the same thing but the car is heavy. Probably weighs around 3500 in drag trim without me in it and I'm 200.

Driving it with the 6sp makes it easier and harder. Easier in repsect to not having a real loose converter to deal with but harder in the respect that the motor is fussy and doesn't like anything below about 2300 rpm so 6th is out unless you want to do about 90 on the highway. Keep it between 4000 and 6000 on a backroad, as I found out on the way to the dyno, makes for a sweet ride however.

There might come a time in the future where swapping in a th400 temporarliy and going for 8's may happen. I just want to get it down the track and get my license first and get my dad to some roadrace events.

I think we can safely step up the nitrous shot by another 50-100 but no more. 1100-1150 at the crank is about all I think these blocks can take on spray.

Yeah Dave either way that's an A$$load of power.... Even considering the 50RWHP loss you would suffer from swap to a TH400 it's still more power than anybody short of joe Overton has made with an LT1.... You'd still be at like 575RWHP with a th400 and a big converter.... crazy power.

My overall goal is 850 at the wheels on the 300 hit... car weighs 3250 roughly with me in it at raceweight.... It should be good enough for 8's provided it doesn't blow up or stand on the bumper.... I would think with a T56 you'd need closer to 900-950 rear wheel to run an 8 no???? definitely that much at 3500lbs....

Like I said, congrats on a bad *** build. I wanna see some pics of this motor in the bay. WHERE ARE THE MOTOR SHOTS AND CAR PHOTOS!!!! WE MUST SEE PICS NOW!!!!

Unbelieveable...... great pics.......

okay let's hear it. Are those bogarts? They look like the DOS2's???? I'm getting ready to order D10's but those are really nice. and what size tires??? they look like 29.5's.....

One more question. I love the hood and the TB setup as it is the same setup I am running (4150 accufab vertical feed TB).... I wanted to know where you got the shroud that goes around it. And do you ever run a filter? My engine will look very similar to yours in the engine bay with the vert feed TB, vacuum pump, etc so i'm trying to piece together ideas on how i want to do stuff since i will be picking up my motor within weeks.

I'm still stunned over those pics. That car is sooo friggin clean...

Oh and BTW, where the heck is your waterpump??? I see the line running to the ports on the side of the motor but how did you completely do away with the WP???? or what are you using in it's place????

Very nice. I wonder what the all-motor f-body dyno record is. I remember a while back someone just breaking 600 with an LSx. It was a pretty extreme setup with 15/1 compression.

T56rebuilds.com broke 700rwhp with their setup.

Outlaw: They are drag-on-fly stars with 28x13.5x15 QTP's. As far as the hood, that was kind of an issue. The hood you see is the factory steel hood modified with a harwood 4" cowl by a real good body guy. 4 weeks ago when we went to get a fiberglass 4" cowl hood, none were available and it was going to be 10-12 weeks from anyone so we went this route to not sacrifice any racing. It is about 20lbs heavier than it should be. I made the shroud, no filter for the track. The other hood, the 2 1/2" cowl, has an airbox with filter built into it for the street.

Water pump is a billet mechanical belt driven Mezerie down low on the passenger side. I made the adapters for the block. This thing makes so much heat that the electric LT1 pump couldn't keep up. Now, on a 95 degree day it's about 155* going down the road and has never gone higher than 180* in traffic.

I don't think we are even close to the all out Fbody N/A number. I'd like to know what the highest LT1 N/A makes though. Anyone know?

3.90 gears right now.

Video to come...

I would first look to Joe O's setup..... With him having the ET record for NA he's probably close to if not THE hp record holder..... I could be wrong cause setup of car could require he have not as much hp as you would think but low 9's NA he had to be pushing about 700RWHP or just shy of....

Thanks for the info... So you made that clear intake around the TB??? Real cool about the WP. Nice engineering. Any idea why the WP couldn't keep up? Maybe the SB2 heads??? I hope I don't have to swap but getting rid of the ugly LT1 water pump does give you more room up front that's for sure...

If his car is light, then it could take significantly less than 700 rwhp. I have the mph to go low 9's (146) and am making 695 rwhp through an auto/loose converter, but my car is a pig. I imagine if I could knock 700 lb off the car, I could go the same mph with only about 560 rwhp, which is more inline with what you would expect from a very hot NA engine through an auto.

I'm betting it's the high compression.

Blows my mind how you can do away with 700 lbs. I guess being a street car, I could never do away with that much. I like my radio, etc.
