383 stroker??
Hi Guys, whats the best Street/Strip 383 stroker kit that you think is best for the price & my H.P goal?I found soo many kits that start from 900$ but i dont know what's the difference? my H.P Goal is 400-450Whp w/cam & ported heads.& i'll be using 125 shot of NOS,since the motor is blown its better for me to get a 383 rotating assembly than doing a rebuild.

Well I think you mean you want a shortblock. Several sponsors on the site offer shortblocks. A rotating kit for $900 will still require balancing and machine work and obviously you need a block to put it in. So that being said, Golen Engine Service or Victory Race Engines can hook you up. Just run a search and look around a bit.

Well the cheaper kits may be a cast setup with hyper pistons and cast steel cranks and rods. These are your less durable setups but would be fine for naturally aspirated applications. Your 4340 kits with forged pistons are your stout pieces. There are varying degrees of the 4340 kits with Eagle and Scat on the lower price end with Lunati and Callies on the more expensive. Stick with an Eagle or Scat kit with JE/SRP pistons for your setup and you'll be fine and save some money. Just be sure to get the whole thing balanced when you take it to the machine shop.

first off a head cam lt1 can make 400 but a blown 383 should easily make 500 hp on some low boost but thats just me ... lets see how this turns out.. i think you should go a lil further and make it a 396 ...
