Need help Racing, i suck
get some lca's and subframe connectors if u dont alredy have them.
that will help some from a dig and make the car more stable.
also a poly trans mount will also help, seeing as how these parts are rather
inexpensive, and they are pretty much manadatory if u are going to drive hard.along time ago i welded 3/4 in. rebar in the u channels of the stock tq arm, and it seem to help, but i would not recommend it if u are not trained in welding.
As for my Borla question, they sound nice and clean and loud ,man, i love them to death, They have a nice high rev sound to them but they were somewhat expensive, $800 but if you wanna save money id say go with the SLP loudmouth Exhuast II, hear they sound even louder and nice, but then agine Borla is a name you brag about i guess. Go to LS1sound.com and you can check out the diffrent types out setup with them and other exhust system's man.
Not much you can do as a driver to be quicker. Your limited to traction. So figure out how hard you can push it before the tires slip from a dig.

Hell, even the 4.6s we walk. My 350 TPI had no problem with them.
I need to get my LCAs. I didn't steal them off my 91 before I sold it
(they fit between 3rd and 4th gen). Get an Energy Suspension trans mount too (which I also forgot to steal off my 91). They kick *** to the Nthº!! The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
If you don't have money to make a car faster, you can easily drop a little weight just by removing some stuff. The spare tire and jack aren't a bad place to start, also the back seat isn't too bad either. If you haven't already done it, the TB Bypass takes all of 10 minutes to do, and it'll keep the Throttle Body a little cooler so you can get a little more peak power.
If you haven't done it, check this out:

And also do a search, you'll find more than enough information on it.
Also look into doing a simple tune-up on the car. Plugs, wires, O2 sensors, Fuel Filter, Fluids. You'd be shocked at how well the car performs when all of the maintenance is up to date. Assuming you're younger (and broke.. hey I feel your pain), have the parentals pay for it. Tell them its so your car can keep running properly so you can get to school and work. It worked for me quite a bit
When you're racing, you can still stall the factory transmission a little bit. Hold the brake and the gas and get it up to about 1500-ish RPMs and hold it until the hands go down to go. Lay into it. A lot of the time it just takes seat time and practice to really get the feel for things.
Now with all of that aside, I'd also suggest taking it to the track. The ends rarely justify the means, and the controlled environment of a track will give you a lot more of a chance to practice improving your driving/launching skill than worrying about whether the idiot next to you will run you off the road, or if cops will come, etc. etc. etc.

I'm not playing your Dad, and I'm probably not much older than you. But don't they crush your car for racing in CA now? Why even want to risk it?
