Talking New LT4 Intake

Well i finally got my LT4 intake and 58mm Throttle Body on
here are the pics?
Bought it used thinking it was an LT1 intake then i looked at all the castings and numbers and turns out it was an original LT4 intake, so i had it acid dipped and powdercoated Bengal Red then ported it out to 58mm for the new throttle body.

The old intake (For sale)

Tell me what you think? getting ready to leave wednesday for the big POCI Pontiac Car show in Tulsa, Oklahoma

Your intake manifold ports were bigger than the intake ports on your heads? I hope not

Stock for stock the LT4 internally is the same as the late LT1 intakes and if you machine it so that it bolts to LT1 heads then you machined off all the potential gain it could have had with LT4 heads because that extra material is what is needed to port match and seal to LT4 heads.

GIZMO posted this pic awhile ago to show the difference.

Seems no matter how many times we try to crush the LT4 intake myths though there are still lots of guys who believe it is more than it is.

^^^ But he didn't pay a premium for it nor was he looking for it. Just wound up with it. He probably gave what, $60 for it????? Personally I would have tried to sell it for what I could get out of it and then buy the LT1 intake.

I was replying to the guy who wanted to know how much of an "upgrade" it was. That is why I quoted him specifically rather than just replying to the thread.

Well it is something everyone should read and understand. Maybe if we keep trying eventually the realities will be understood.

I tried buying one at retail when I realized they were going through the roof but Summit was already out. I wanted to hop on the bandwagon and sell for $$$$$$. I didn't score any, I was too late.

Keep researching and you will find LT4 heads with a 350/355 is still a mistake.
