Default Which headgasket do i Need?

I have an LT1 with a stock bottom end and edelbrock ported and polished heads. I want to go with the SCE Pro Copper gasket but I dont know which bore or thickness I need.

if you want to stay stock compression then go 0.039 thickness and 4.000 bore.i'm not sure if they carry that size but,it's a good start.you might be little higher than stock if your combustion chambers are
smaller than 58cc.

Stock gaskets are .050" and the stock chambers are 54cc.

Edelbrock heads are 54cc so with a Fel-Pro .039 gasket, you'll bump the CR a little. Probably don't need the copper. It's a little overkill if you're not running big boost or a big shot.

Silly question. Wouldn't using a thinner gasket increase the lift on the rockers due to moving the head closer to the engine, making the push-rod 'longer', essentially creating more lift? I mean obviously not a lot, but some yes?

No..never..here is why.
Think about the Geometry..you are not changing the Rocker Angle with the Valves, merely raising the pivot point a little bit, cause these Heads use Stud-mount Rockers.

On LSX Engines is where you want to change the Push Rod length, cause the Rockers are mounted in a fixed position on the Head, and they have to be on the money..
I love them things too..22ft/lbs torque and they are set..

Post count Knowledge. I hope I'm there to point and laugh at you when curiosity spurs a question and you decide to ask. I'll refrain from thinking outside the box from now on.
