when i had my formula i used to have the moroso cai and felt a good difference, but i guess a k&n and a moroso will not be much of a difference between them since they both have the same shape!

I can stick a K&N or AMSoil air filter on a Moroso intake kit right? I saw at gtasynthetics.com that they have AMSOIL filters at half the cost of the K&N and are supposed to be better. I have an ebay bid on the plastic Moroso piece right now..

Yes, you can get any filter that will fit on the end of the CAI. I would recommend not getting one that is too long. My car had a Moroso on it when I bought it, and it had a K&N that was so long it almost touched the splash panel. I used a shorter one because I don't want to have to worry about sucking in water if I hit a puddle. It still flows plenty of air, car makes about 20 hp more than stock with just that and a muffler.
