Default Dyno results are in

I took my LT1 to the dyno (dynamic dyno) and below are the results. I mainly took it to get the WOT a/f worked out. Turns out that the car likes being pretty rich above 4000rpm. I got the best results running at an 11.8 a/f. I think if I richened the mixture slightly more I might have even put up some better numbers. All my mods are listed below.

Yeah. looking over the graph the guy operating the dyno let off early. The car shifts at 6200 if he would've kept on it it probably would have easily went over 400. The curve wasn't anywhere near falling off went he got off the throttle at 5800.

thanks. do you think if the dyno operator stayed in it i wouldv'e broke 400. i dont know why he let off at 5800? i will say this i did the a/f tuning myself and i was a little nervous about messing something up. luckily it all worked out. i bought a wideband as well. cant wait to take it to the track.

When you were getting your air/fuel straitned out, did you go through the maf to do it or air/fuel vs RPM?

What you're seeing there is the shift. The momentum of the engine rapidly decreasing in speed caused a spike in hp/torque.

You will make more power with a leaner mixture than you will with a rich one.

Most people aim for a mid 12s A/F at wot.

I'm with engineermike, the graph is a little misleading, the 30rwhp blip at the end is likely artifact and the scaling of the curve makes it difficult to really interpret what the car is making. That being said, it IS making good power and is probably pretty fun on the street. Enjoy it!

Thats what I thought. Not in this case though. On the first pull my a/f dipped into like 11.6 and it made 388hp/351tq so i said let me lean it out. I leaned it out and got it to like 12.0-11.8. Car made 349hp/398tq. So I richened it up again to around 11.8 all the way through and it made the graph you see above. Maybe it likes more gas due to the large overlap of the cam or something. I'm not too knowledgeable when it comes to this kind of stuff so I'm not sure.

a/f vs. RPM. I'm new to tuning and that looked like the easiest way. It was in fact pretty easy to do.

Ah. We always dyno locked in one gear. We only see that if some thing starts to let go. Need better dyno operator

Trying to interpret a stalled auto on a dyno, is a nightmare. I wouldn't really care about the numbers, but if you really are making close to 400rwhp in a stalled auto, you should have no problems running very low 11's or high 10's. Which is more important then how much power you make :p Good numbers.
