Default very wierd? need help

ok i picked up my 94 formula today.. the guy said his waterpump went out.. he had it replaced. it ran for a day then wouldnt ever run again.. i was like.. ok its the opti. well after 2 years of it sitting in the sun roasting. he finally sold it to me today.. i picked it up thinking im gonna do a opti an whatever else. so first step get a battery. i slap a new battery in it and cranked it for ***** an giggles an the bitch fired right up? didnt die.. let it run for a long time an it never died.. what do you think is going on?

If it fired up with no problem.. then what is the issue? Maybe all it needed was a battery?

Because it had been sitting for so long, I would do a full tuneup on the car and the three step seafoam.

Yeh seriously whats the problem? Based on what you said, you got a new battery and it runs fine now. Isn't that what you want?

.....no it didnt run, the guy took it to a shop and had all kinds of work done to it. it never started back up. it just cranked an cranked. thats when he got sick of it an put it in the corner an let it sit for 2 years an now all the sudden it runs? but i have a light on the dash that says abs inop? whats the deal with that? how do i fix that? and when i put it in gear i give it gas an it wants to stall then picks up an peels the tires it wont take off easy.. so idk whats up with that, im new to lt1

The abs inop light would have no relation to why it would stall- probably a bad abs wheel sensor, or like my car a short to power. Needs to be on a scanner to find out whats going on with the ABS. As far as the thing not starting just cranked.... that could be a number of issues I'd say check your fuel pressure, might as well check/change your plugs and wires (good maintenance anyway), and if you have access to a scanner you could run a drive test with the scanner hooked up as you drive it to see what is going on, if not just check the obvious such as coils, plugs, wires, fuel pressure, injectors, vacuum, fuel filter clogged, etc etc etc

im in the process of doing a tune up on it.. it runs fine now for some reason. it takes 5 or so cranks for it to fire up cold. but fires right up when its warm so idk

Your fuel system might not be holding pressure. That could be why it takes a while to start after sitting. Check things like the fuel pressure regulator and the lines going back to the fuel pump.

Basically on your fuel pressure regulator, you have a line going to the fuel pump in the rear, and one going to your engine. First you check the PSI at the schrader valve with car off after it warmed up. Then you can pinch the fuel lines on engine side seeing if it leaks pressure on the fuel pump side.. and vise versa.
