Default removing valve covers.

do you have to replace the valve cover gasket if I remove it Im haven trouble getting a the header on the passeger side through the botton so I will try the top but the valve cover is in the way.

The driver side needs to be hit to notch out room for the steering does that sound comon.. There pacesetter longtubes.

You should be fine reusing the gasket, if it looks destroyed then get yourself a replacement.

Tony.

My LTs arent pacesetters, they are FLP, so I dont know if the pipe routing is the same, but I had to do them from the bottom because they wouldnt clear the steering shaft

did you try raising the motor up? should be able to get a couple inches of lift out of it before you hit the cowl but it would probably be enough to let the header slip in there. somehow I doubt you'll get it through the top.

I didn't have too much trouble going in from the top with my race pacesetters. I don't see what all the fuss is about as far as that goes.

I did disconnect the steering shaft and pull the passenger valve cover.

If you have too and you do have a lift to do the work on. i found out that lifting up the motor is a hell of a lot harder than just droping the K-Member a few inches. just loosen the bolts evenly. This is the best way if you are coming in from the bottom with a set of longtubes. it also keeps you from scratching up the headers and your valve covers.
