Need Help In Choosing Headers/exhaust
Hello everyone I am the proud of owner of a 93lt-1 with some mod's. already ex. milled/ported heads,lt-4 hot cam, 1.6rr's, cai,bbk underdrive pulley, holley air foil, adj. fuel press. reg., msd ign. syst, 8.5 wires, ngk plugs. But my exhaust sytem needs help it currently has a flowmaster catback which i want to ditch out. There are so many brands out there that I am confused in choosing a setup I want to go long tubes with all emissions and of course i will run my a/c as well. WHAT is everyone using in your cars for exhaust and headers.? everyones feedback would be greatly appreciated comments will help me in making my final decision. thanks everyone,. As for a cat-back I think my magnaflow is the best cat-back for price and quality. But the GMMG has a great sound and great performance. As far as cat-back's go, except for flowmaster, I think they all perform pretty much the same. The key differences are how they are ran, materials, and definetaly the sound.
yea this is my exact set-up. Sounds great! I have issues with bottoming out though. I will blame my poor shocks and springs for that not the headers.

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
yea man, why would you upgrade everything and not the headers? You gotta let that puppy breathe my friend! Long tubes and you will pick up some serious rwhp I would imagine. That is holding everything back im sure.
But If I can find a set for cheap I think I might go ahead and do that.
All my upgrades were due to necessity. I got the car with 120,000 miles, engine rebuild number 6. So ofcourse we have to machine like hell to save the block, which we don't mind, Our buddy at the machine shop loves this **** and helps us out for practically nothing. The heads need work... oversized valves and killer springs are about the same price as OEM replacements. The came lobes are pretty much not there anymore, so we call up comp and they custom grind one for us, cheaper than OEM, so we also get pushrods and lifters. All the major stuff is done and paid for, most for very cheap, considering my dad has built race engines for nearly 35 years and knows where to get stuff and so on... So all that is left is little bolt on crap like CAIs, and whatnot. So my build wasn't exactly an expensive one or one that was meant for maximum hp, it just happened to work out well. So dumping $800 on a nice set of headers and then a Y-pipe and paying some guy to fab up a whole new exhaust system seemed a little excessive...
I think all together We only spent a little over 3k on the entire build including the tranny which was built in-house using lots of custom parts and aftermarkets upgrades.
But now the paint and interior work is a completely different story, Insurance paid for ALOT of it. The night I got the car the previous owners girl friend, well EXGF, saw it and went nuts on it, busted all the glass, worst keying I've ever seen, slashed tires, wheels, etc etc. I cried cause it was all on my dad's shop camera... Anyways, luckily we put full coverage on it the moment we signed the papers, by the way I bought this car for $120 through a mechanics lein. Anyways, Ins Rep was pissed, but I got new paint and nearly everything replaced..
sorry for the long story, just thought i'd chime in...
