The most I have had apart with the dash is the radio, glovebox, and the panel under the steering wheel. I am not sure on the headlight switch. Would not hurt to call your dealer and see if there are different part numbers for the switch. It's a possibility you have the wrong one.

Well at least if you have to drive it, you have a 3rd brake light. Not much defense against a ticket though!

Did you say whether or not you tried new bulbs? Those sockets may be candidate for replacement.

I can't remember what my exact problem was with my sockets but my dad said he thought that's what it needed. I remember thinking "How that's gonna help?" But it fixed it.

really.. hmm i shall do that but.. what could be wrong with the sockets? the wires come out of it.. isnt the socket just the plastic piece that holds the bulbs..

Well it's got your metal in the bottom of it where your contacts are. If there's a wire bad there or something, could possibly do what you are describing.

There will be a few inches of wiring that will come with the sockets and you will splice them into your factory wires. The cheap ones you get at the parts store work just fine. You'll only have $20 or so in a new set when a single GM socket is like $50!
