A matter of local terminology I'm sure. In my neck of the woods true duals means true, as in no cross pipe, dual pipes.

I'm not so sure. I'm pretty sure common terminology for true duals anywhere is anything that doesn't merge into one pipe.

Straight duals like you are referring don't make as much power in most cases. An X or H pipe improves the scavenging effect.

If it was just terminology, what would you call a dual setup with an X-pipe? It isn't single exhaust, so it must be dual.
