I always stay away from the platinum plugs. I think they're supposed to last longer and they might be better if you're just doing light driving, but I race and push my car hard, so I don't want one of those little bitty tips to break off and hit a valve or a piston. I always go with NGK TR55 plugs. If you want some that will last a long time, you can get the Iridium ones, I think they're TR55IX.

thanks for the tip. ngk are what most peeps use according tothe latest online configurations. ive had my hawk for about 1 month, its more for pleasure, i work 7&7. as chopper mechanic. i do want excellent street performance, i may not use all the performance but i still want it to be there, not my daily driver. some things i am considering are, subframe connectors, i hear these are great especially if your t-topped, ive read likes and dislikes about the 160-180 thermostat, would like to add a shortstisk linkage, i like the sound of my stock exaust at the moment, just interested in hipo street mods. any suggs.

Short throw shifter and short stick were my first mods. After that I did the SFC and both of those make a huge difference in just pure drivability. I got the 3-points, but 2-points like the BMR ones should do fine. The lower thermostat doesn't make much difference unless you have your fans reprogrammed to come on sooner. The LT1 was built to run hotter than other sbc.
