Default Coils

i am going to replace my coil but was wondering if there is a brand to stay away from like Autozone has duralast 32.00 and kregans has the neighof? for 45 then pepboys has there own brand 52 and 36 ..in my head i always think buying the more expensive one will better and last longer than the cheaper one? i dunno what do you guys think

I'd get the MSD unit probably. Parts store brands (Autozone and whatnot) are usually not good at all. Also check into the OEM one, but if you have to get it from the dealer it might be ridiculously expensive. You can get the MSD unit from WS6 Store for either $45 or $48 depending on if it's the single or dual connector model. I don't know the year of your car so I don't know which one you need. Here's the links if you want the MSD unit.

Get this if your car is a 93-95 (dual connector).

Or this if your car is a 96-97(single connector).

I'm pretty sure they're all the same thing. The MSD I bought was DOA.

Maybe so, but I've heard of a lot of bad experiences with parts store brands so I tend to avoid them.

Yeah I wasn't recommending MSD because of the extra voltage necessarily. I just trust MSD a lot more than Autozone or somewhere like that and I'm guessing with how inflated dealer prices get it might even be cheaper than an OEM one. Heck I had to pay 6 bucks for a lug not not to long ago. That's a little ridiculous! LOL. For something as simple as a coil though they really might all be about the same for a stock car. Just puttin in my 2 cents.

I agree. Get the cheapest name brand that you trust.
