Default well im an idiot....

well i have the entire car together after installed the new cam. i am installing the hub last. i end up hitting it relentlessly with a hammer on the hub. seriously messing it up. so now ima buy a new one. this really sucks. Btw how close is the hub supposed to be to the freakin opti? like 1/8 in? cause its really close.

WOW!!! Never hit a hub with a hammer. You may need more than a hub now.

Chris is right.

You never want to make direct contact with the hub and something hard. Always use sort of a dampner (wood, Aluminum etc..)

Reason being, its to much direct shock to the internals.

Tony.

When I install my dampner I usally heat it up in the oven @350 for about 30 minutes and I will pull right on .No Beating Required.

Yep, I toasted a engine from that once so that's why it's a good investment to have the right tools. Sorry to hear about that dude! Good luck!

You should never use the crank bolt to pull it on either. Thats a good way to rip out the crank threads, then your really screwed. Just buy an installer.

Installation is probably just preference as I have done that before too. Not the best way I agree, but doable.
