Compression Ratio
After getting back and jackin with the car for a few days, I got it to turn over finally. I installed a high CA/CCA battery that helped alot. But to me it sounds like the starter I installed (the OEM replacement which i DISTINCTLY remember being larger than the one i removed) does not have the power to crank the motor. I was informed that the motor has around 11.5:1 compression ratio also. So does anyone have or know of a starter that will fit an F-Body that is a high torque starter? I kinda searched around jegs a little didnt come up with much though. Fitment is a pain because of exhaust, as most of you know, so I dont want to just blow money on a universal if it does not fit. Help would be greatly appreciated

The mini starters do have much more torque and the big *** old-school ones aren't but a temp replacement IMO. After my buddy learned of their power years back, he started swapping them INTO his 350 vehicles because they just spun those lower CR motors over with ease! There is NO use shelling out big bucks for "Mini Torquers" when the stock GM ones for the LTs are JUST that!
That'd be the first thing I'd do is swap in the CORRECT starter.

It has a direct OEM replacement in it right now. When I first got the car a few months back, before I left, I messed with it a little, and the starter didnt seem to be engaging correctly so I got a new one. I do remember that the one I pulled OFF of the car was SMALLER than the stock replacement that I put on. I do not have the starter we pulled off anymore either.

I have a little more compression than you (11.6:1) and I had no problem with the stock starter. When it died I got the LT4 starter and it has worked fine too. I am also running a punny Oddsey 680 battery with no problem.

shim it. i had the same issue when i removed my factory starter. go buy some cheap shims and start with the thinest one and keep going from there. it shouldn't take much.
your just binding it and making it work twice as hard. be easy on it the way it is , it could get binded up and knock the head off the starter. ask me how i know lol
