Smelling Gas Outside of Car
Smelling Gas Outside of Car Anyone had this happen to them that can shed some light. Got out my last night and was taking some stuff out of the back seat and could smell gas. Walked around the car and could smell it on both sides between the door and rear wheels. Temperature outside was a 101 and I had a 1/4 tank of gas. Jacked car up and saw no wet areas on the lines or the fuel filter(which is only 2 months old). Had my son start the car with me underneith and still saw nothing. This is not the first time this has happened, but it's intermitten. Would the high temperature outside have something to do with this, maybe causing expansion therefore making the tank vent more vapors. Don't think it's the gas cap cause of the smell coming from both sides.
