Default Paddle shifting 4L60E and 4L80E

Guys the new Gm High Tech I seen today had a small write up on a New F1 Style Paddle shifting system that could be used on th350Trans, C4's 4L60E's, etc. http://news.hspn.com/articles/936/1/...tic/Page1.html What sucks is the damn thing is 1400 from them, may be cheaper a little through a Vendor??

I searched Jegs and I found this
http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...58050_-1_10517 After looking you have to have the t-Com software for the 4L60E or 4L80E at $700+ the good news is I already have one for my 4L80E conversion . However its still $550 just for the setup so thats around $1200 for this whole setup.
Both systems are Suppose to be very user friendly and send signals so you don't have to worry about wiring up anything. The version from Jegs plugs into the T-com software.

Anybody else have any thoughts on this, thought it was really cool. Me and my brother were talking about a paddle shift conversion about a week ago too. He is picking up his LS3 08 today with 6-speed paddle shifting, so I get to try it out, lol.

Wicked, my brother is coming home with his car right now, so I plan on playing with it sometime this weekend when I get to drive it .
I look at it in a way that I already have the controller, might as well spend the extra $550 on the paddle shifting too, lol.

Delta I was just checking everything out on that page. I am sold on it, looks Awsome and is very easy to install. The only downside is that I have to get a Aftermarket steering wheel for my Daily driver, guess that means no more airbag???

why manually shift an automatic ... just buy a 6 speed. kind of seems pointless to me.

Well, a paddle shift is kina a convenience and different, has a cool effect, but i think a 6 speed is way cooler.

I'm part paralyzed - can't use my rigght hand to shift a manual - just push an auto forward.
I'd like the paddle to be where the signal lever is
hmmm...a paddle shifting high beam, put the high beam back on the left loor board...

Yea, I just watched it and it was cool. Fun to get the track to yourself - looks like he got a bunch of runs that day.

I went ahead and bought it for my car to use with the TCI Controller and 4L80E. I got the stealth paddle setup from Shrifter, and took it all apart and had all the aluminum parts hard anodized a very dark grey like my wheels. I'm hoping it sort of disappears behind my steering wheel, since the car is supposed to be a sleeper.

I'll post a picture with the new color all attached to my steering wheel, probably tomorrow.

I have paddleshift in my car...it's a twist machine (first on 4th gen) and you'll need a TCI trans controller. After playing with it it works awesome.

I didn't go 6 speed since the car see some track time and I wanted to keep my level 3 trans.

that looks sweet but I was wondering if the stock 4L60E would hold up to the abuse that it would take wile shifting it like that. I would expect to hear that you have to put a diffrent valve body in it or blow it up quickly

shrifter=twist machine

chief455 - the Shrifter is set up for a very easy handgrip motion on the paddles - about 1/4" of motion. Right paddle is upshift, left is down, still need a column or console shifter setup - the Shrifter is set up to be e-shift in forward gears (D & OD) only so you need the main shifter to Park, Reverse, etc. Paddle assembly rotates with the steering wheel.
