cat inlet/outlet sizes

cat inlet/outlet sizes Hey everyone I'm trying to buy a new cat to replace my busted one on my 95 T/A.
It will be plugging right onto my newly purchased GMMG cat back but i don't know what inlet/outlet sizes I need to just cut the old cat off and weld the new one in place.
Any help would be appreciated!

I'm thinking 3" inlet (to the Y pipe) and 3" outlet (to the stock catback)
Sound right? my measurements show the GMMG's inlet (from the cat) being 3" and I roughly measured the cat's inlet circumference and converted to a dia. of 3" as well but wasn't too sure on it.
Is this correct at all??

I bought a replacement cat years ago. Carsound made it and had the factory flange on the backside with a 3in. inlet and outlet. Works on 93-5 single cat. cars. It slides right into my edelbrock y-pipe and bolts to the catback like stock. I only use it for inspections then put the offroad pipe back on. The factory cat inlet and outlet are smaller than 3in., 2 7/8 or something like that.
