Put it this way, if I have to pay $3600 + shipping for a shortblock and the guy is within 2 hrs drive of me, then I'll buy it from across the country from a different shop. I was asking him to work on his weekend... just be there on Sat. morning (any hours that he was availbale) so I can drop it off. If he isnt willing to that, then screw him. If you have any experience with customers, and you are willing to take there money, you should be willing to give an hour of your time to speak in person.

My mail order tune was way off. I know exactly what is in my engine and sent it to Ion. My first Dyno run was so lean my tuner stoped the run at 4000 rpm. Now all is well and I am happy with my Dyno tune.

There are mixed reviews with every single thing on this board. The bottom line is on any given day you can't make everyone happy. This hobby is a lot like your flipp'n local costco on a Friday. Ya got 14 people sampling the newest cheese dip. 8 love it and the rest are dying for something to clean their palet!

It's the truth, I'm not ranting but what is acceptable for one person may be totally unacceptable by the next. You guys know what I mean. Are there some issues? Probably, but Chad has always seemed like the kind of guy willing to help out. I'll bet someone has had issues with just about every vendor we have here. The other thing is no1 is twisting our arms to buy anything, but also there are times when some1 could have bought themselves a quality product but they were swayed from buying it because some1 else had a "negative" experience that if evaluated by some1 else may have been insignifficant.

Just MHO!

yes but when you pay big money for a product that is supposed to run well, and it runs like crap, and burns oil, you want answers.

No argument here. At that point the situation should be evaluated by the willingness of the vendor to help out AND ultimately determine that it was an error on their part or not. There are a whole lot of different variables that could cause an engine to use oil and or not perform up to expectation. Cylinder heads, Valve guides, tune, break in. There are alot of things that cause issues. What if the tune has a rich idle and the cylinders get washed and it begins to smoke, is that the engine builders fault? What if your heads that were supposedly professionaly done have some valve guide issues? I'm just saying let's be careful how quick we are to soil some1's reputation.

Numbers always seemed pretty weak to me, seems like very mild street setups
