Oil Pan issues?
Oil Pan issues? Ok, guys, I bit the bullett and removed the oil pan this weekend (canton roadrace 7qt 15-244t) to change the gasket only to find more problems. Seems like when we installed the pan several years ago we didn't follow Cantons reccs and raise the motor or lower the rack/pinion to make clearance and all the time the pan has been sitting on the rack/pinion. All is fine except for the nice dent in the pan, but luckily the pan is still flat on the mating surface and should seal fine, but I need to get it off the rack/pinion to keep it from leaking again from the front seal. Anyone have to do this or have any suggestions as I don't know if I should shim the motor mounts or lower the rack/pinion as I have no clue where to start here. I just need to raise the motor a bit to clear it. Any help is much appreciated???
