Yeah I know tires should help it trap higher, but even the 1/8th to 1/4 mph gain isn't on par with the dyno #'s.

Yeah, I think he's got a few issues to address...I think going with 4.10s and a sticky tire will help him get out and make some higher rpms on the big end, too...I agree that regardless of traction the mph is slow for the dyno numbers, which is why I only rely on the dyno for tuning purposes and have little faith in the numbers themselves...I don't make 400 rwhp on a Mustang dyno, but my trap speed may surprise some folks...

I'm not knocking the set up at all, hell, its his first time out in a long time and 6 speed cars are harder to run in the 1/4...If he addresses the traction and gearing he should do much better with some more seat time...

ABA 383, our numbers are identical! We must be on the same page as far as horsepower and getting her down the track.

NOTACOP97Z, have a good trip....I'm leaving soon also.

Yeah, sounds like we'd be a good run ...I'm trying for 11.teens now...We just added QA1s with 275 lb springs and QA1 12 ways for the rear to replace the stock springs/shocks and I've got 4.10s and a spool in the garage...Should help me out a bit...If I can 60' anywhere in the 1.40s it will be interesting...and the 4.10s will get me out better and should help me cross the traps at 6300 instead of 5900...we'll see...

Dyno numbers are just numbers...

Awesome numbers! I'm hoping to purchase one of their 383 long blocks this winter.

Not to highjack this thread but how does you car sit with the 275 lb springs in it? I just bought the double adjustable QA1s w/275 springs. Not in yet but working on it. Also going with manual rack, strange front brakes, electric water pump and pulling the a/c-abs stuff out.

hey I have a question what's your CR with that motor? Are the trickflow heads stock chamber size or did you have them milled any?

I'm thinkin of going with a similar setup and just wanted to see what kind of power I can do with maybe a 11.5-12 CR and those heads.

It sits fine with the 275s, but we had to turn the spanner nuts to 7.5" up from where the threads start on the shock to get it to where it was...Its not anywhere near coil bind or anything...I was on the fence between the 275s and 300s, and then fell into a stupid good deal on a new set with the 275s...QA1 says that the 275s are optimal for the track with my front end weight..(which I forget now) The car is now 3570 with 1/2 tank and me in it...

The car does ride better with the new QA1 Rs, 275s and the stock springs in the rear with 12 way QA1s...So far the rears are on 5 and the fronts are on 4...I have the R series with fixed 90/10 rebound and 12 way adjustable compression...I'm new to all this adjustability so we'll see how it all works at the track next month...

I got 9-10 rwhp across the tested rpm range on a Mustang dyno with the EWP with my set up, just FYI...I'm keeping the ABS, P/S and A/C...I like the creature comforts too much....Good luck with your stuff...

well he is a head and cam LTX guy..... its actually easy to get around 420rwhp with a 355 LT1 with the right head work and parts along with a good tune! BUT , if his car is running properly after he gets good tires then he shouldnt worry about the numbers being a little low..... JMO a 383ci LT1 pro race shop motor with heads should be making around 450rwhp
