Default im depressed

well, i put this cam in the car,and to find out my car runs like ***, all the rpms are different. i freakin have to be in 6th gear to do 50 at 1500 rpms ( used to do 45 in 5th at 1500 rpms ) the car falls on its face at a stop sign, the oil prossure is at like 20 psi. i now have a leak under my timing chain and the car pulses when driving....i dont know what to do.

Oh, and i leave for college tomorr ( thats 300 miles away ). So yea, im pretty screwed.

should have gotten a tune...its goana run bad until you do...

timing cover leak is common...need to drop the oil pan almost completely to get the timing cover off...cam surge(or pulse) is normal at loe rpm with cam

you need to buy an extra computer and send it to get tuned...

with a tune will the pulsing stop or is that something you just have to deal with ?

did you put it in yourself? or did someone build the motor for you or what? oil leak and low pressure, sounds like what i dealt with which was missing front galley plugs, collapsed lifter and damaged a couple rockers.

well, the front leak has now been stopped. thats good news, i've cleaned teh IAC, now im getting a code


23 manifold air too low


I adjusted my rockers with the engine running, allowing them to clack, once i stopped the clack i then did a 1/2 turn and then locked down the rocker. also, my oil pressure is like below 19 now...its nuts. Any ideas guys? The tune has been applied, the tune was done by ion, i spoke with him today and he says that there is another problem that exists on the motor or another part. Any ideas guys?

rpm vs speed in a particular gear shouldnt change with a cam swap, especially with a stick. everything is locked up. maybe your not looking at it right or else something else is off (speedo)

hmm thats interesting.. sounds like my ls1 i had.. no tune. it was a pig.. low oil pressure. it didnt run for ****. good luck.. keep us posted

ive decided to not take it to school. the weird thing is that the oil pressure has been fine until i drive the thing this morning. so now my dad thinks i need to pull the motor all over again. i wish sumone would steal//set my car on fire so i could collect insurance

no...what kinda oil my friend has the same prob with a brand new motor with 5w30..i use pure 30 weight and it is 40 at idle hot!

wat were your bearing clearences when you put the motor together? what oil pump combo?
